AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): As no arrest has been taken place by Tripura Police and no action was taken by Crime Branch of Tripura to whom the PB24 media house vandalism case was handed over even after having clear evidence of September 8 violence and how BJP workers vandalized across Agartala city, a PIL was filed in the High Court by an Advocate Haripada Das Case No- 16/2021 in the High Court. In this regard, the High Court has issued a notice to Tripura Govt seeking replies by 4th October. Talking to media Advocate Rajashree Purokayastha said that the demand of the PIL was to set up a SIT to investigate the case under the chairmanship of a retired or existing judge. The case was heard by Chief Justice Akil Kureshi and Justice S. Chattopadhyay.
This may turn into a major setback for BJP as the leaders and the karyakartas of the party who participated in the violence were clearly evident in videos and it was also exposed how ahead of the violence and attack on media houses, BJP top leaders had folded the BJP banner signaling workers to be vandalized.
