Reportedly, on Thursday night while returning home Chandan Bhowmik met with an accident. The family members immediately took him to district hospital. But as his condition was deteriorating, he was referred to GB Hospital. While taking him to GB, the patient succumbed to death on road.

On Friday morning, his body was given to the family after post mortem. This incident left his family members and his colleagues under deep shock. The 10323 terminated teachers group has lost their 108 colleagues till now. However, no help from the government has been provided to the deceaseds' families yet.
