KAILASHAHAR, Sep 17 (TIWN): Amid much claims about a curb in crime against women in Tripura the reality in everyday reports is saying just the opposite. A 16 years old girl was raped in Kailashahar, Unakoti Dist and out of grief she poisoned herself. The incident took place at Gournagar Block, Srinathpur Gram Panchayat, Ward No-1. The rape accused against whom FIR was lodged is Aktar Ali who allegedly raped the girl after taking her away from her home in deceptive means. Then the accused had thrown her in a lonely place from where locals rescued her and informed her parents. Rape was confirmed in her medical report. Kailashahar Police started an investigation in search of the accused person.

But the girl had poisoned herself in attempt of suicide. Getting information, the Fire Brigade team rushed to the spot and took her to hospital. 

She is now undergoing treatment at Unakoti Dist hospital.
