AGARTALA, Sep 17 (TIWN): After a long two-year trial, North District and Sessions Court Judge Gautam Sarkar announced verdict of a newly widowed woman's murder after rape case in Dharmanagar.
On August 21, 2019, Supriyo Nath, son of Pradeep Nath, a resident of Post Office Road adjacent to Dharmanagar BBI School, raped and murdered his newly widowed aunt at his home. On that night of the incident, accused Supriyo Nath's father Pradeep Nath and mother Sampa Nath when came to know about the incident, to vanish all the evidence Anita’s lifeless body was dumped in front of the craft shed of BBI School ground in the early hours of next morning. While dumping Anita’s lifeless body in the school ground few students noticed the incident.
After 2 years of the heinous incident the North District and Sessions Court Judge Gautam Sarkar sentenced the accused Supriya Nath with life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 376. Besides his father Pradeep Nath and mother Sampa Nath were sentenced to 7 years imprisonment along with fine Rs 5000 for vanishing evidence.
