SONAMURA (Tripura), Sep 15 (TIWN): An accused Jamal Hossain was allegedly murdered in Sonamura Police station.
The youth Jamal Hossain (31) resident of Kolardefa, Sonaamura was arrested by police at late-night. Family alleged that police in front of his family members had first beaten him up at his home and then in lock-up he was murdered through police brutality.
"If he was engaged in any anti-social work, police have no right to torture him and beaten him up to death. He could be produced before the court under the law", said Jamal Hossian's family.
Many custodial unnatural deaths have been reported in Tripura in the last 3 years including hanging bodies found inside jail.
A 19 years old boy Mangal Das's death was the most tragic death at Udaipur R.K.Pur PS which was claimed as heart-attack later, but the public were not satisfied with the report as a 19 years old boy's heart attack is rare unless brutality was done with him.
