AGARTALA, Sep 14 (TIWN): Drugs trade to cannabis smuggling in Tripura have been rampant amid much hyped ‘Nesha Mukt Tripura’. However, state police are playing active role to control the expanding narcotic empire.

Today almost 10,000 cannabis saplings destroyed by Kalamchaura Police after 3 hours of operation.

The operation of destroying Cannabis sapling was led by Kalamchaura Police Station OC Bishnupada Bhowmik along with around 30 Police forces based on secret information at Rahimpur hilly area in Sonamura Sub-division.

It is known that these cannabis cultivation fields fall under Forest Department.
