AGARTALA, Sep 13 (TIWN): CPI-M party has alleged that MGNREGA wage which was promised by BJP before 2018 poll to increase to Rs. 340 minimum has now further downed.
Earlier the MGNREGA wage was Rs. 176 in CPI-M Govt's time, but BJP as opposition in 2017-18 had promised to raise it to Rs. 340, but after voted to power the MGNREGA wage deprivation started in the name of quality checking. Right now, there is no fixed price of MGNREGA wage and that's why poor people are not getting even minimum wage.
CPI-M leaders led by former Minister Tapan Chakraborty met the Labour Commissioner and requested him to restart the minimum wage. Also, CPI-M demanded that a 20% bonus system ahead of 15 days of Durga puja should be given.
