AGARTALA, Sep 8 (TIWN): Silver made Goddess Kali Idol of Meher Kalibari Temple has been stolen by thieves.

Many expensive items were taken away by thieves. Goddess Kali's silver made idol, cash were also stolen. 

The thieves entered by breaking windows. Locals expressed massive resentment over the incident as this is not the first incident that took place there but during lockdown time also the same incidents happened.

Law and Order's pathetic condition was cited again in Agartala with a massive looting that took place at Meher Kalibari.

Under BJP Govt the temple-loot culture first started in Tripura and now per month, many temples are being looted. In comparison with the previous Communist Govt era, even though the party ideologically does not believe in existence of God but the Communist Govt gave huge protections to the temples, but under Biplab Deb Govt from Matabari to Laxmi Narayan Bari, hundreds of temples have been looted.
