AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): Tripura SC Coordinating Committee organised a rally on 14 points demand in a joint initiative of Belonia and Santirbazar sub-divisional committee.
The 14 points demands raised- to increase the number of Lok Sabha seats and reserve one seat for the Scheduled Castes, to allocate funds in the central budget for the Scheduled Castes according to population. To repeal three anti-peasant laws, new electricity bills and anti-labor codes, and to return 10323 teachers lost jobs immediately. Demand raised to restore democracy and peace and immediate regularization of all irregular staff in various departments.
The rally started from the office of CPIM Belonia Sub-Divisional Committee and walked in Belonia city. CPIM South District Committee Secretary Basudeb Majumder, Bilonia Subdivision Committee Secretary Taposh Das, State Committee member Dipankar Sen, Krishak Sabha Bilonia Subdivision Committee Secretary Babul Debnath and other activists were also present in the procession.
During speeches the CPI-M leaders also slammed BJP’s unfulfilled Job promise to the youths.
