AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 Teachers led by Joint Movement Committee (JMC) held a protest in Agartala and observed "Black Day'' on Friday on the occasion of Teacher's Day. The observation has signified the "injustice" with the teachers who were recruited under Govt interview procedures phase-wise in 2010's time. Though the Education Dept officials who formed the recruitment policy or violated the recruitment policy were not brought under investigation, the teachers who got the jobs under the procedure lost jobs due to unfair job recruitment / irregularities in recruitment. BJP before 2018 election had promised the 10323 teachers that once BJP will come to power, it will secure all the terminated teachers' livelihoods and if necessary the Central Govt will amend a new law specially for the Tripura's terminated teachers but till now, the issue was not raised the Parliament and teachers are jobless for last 19 months.
During the battle, 106 teachers have already died, many committed suicide and many died of heart attacks.
In protest against the tragedy and in demand of reappointment of the teachers, JMC 10323 teachers organized the protest on Teacher's Day. The teachers also walked a silent rally across the city.
