AGARTALA, Sep 3 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress's programme was disrupted on Friday which was pre-scheduled with permission granted by the authority at Dasrath Dev Bhawan. All the Covid protocols were followed and only limited numbers of people had joined the programme and there was a gap between each chair. But just ahead of the programme, the power connectivity was cut which disrupted the entire programme. The programme was initially cancelled but later with help of TMC activists, with an electricity generator, the programme was completed. Power Dept's politically biased role was condemned by Minister Bratya Basu. Addressing on the occasion Bengal Minister Bratya Basu said, "Although BJP claims it is not afraid about TMC, such power cutting politics and attacking agenda show BJP's fear about TMC. Yesterday our two youths were brutally beaten up. I condemn such a kind of politics where opposition will be attacked at each step and opposition party programmes will be disrupted like this".
TMC leader Sushmita Dev said, "When there is any programme of TMC, all Covid protocols get activated but when BJP organizes programmes, there is no Covid issue".
"We have to strengthen the organization at the grass level. We have very minimal time. I thank the people who have joined this programme amid many obstacles. We have to form booth committees. I promise, the people who have come forward in tough times for this party, everyone will be given importance in our party. We are preparing to open our party office soon in this state but before that we have to form the committees first. We will not select the President and leader by sitting in an AC room but we will select persons who have true connection with the soil", said Sushmita Dev.
