AGARTALA, Sep 1 (TIWN): Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, who had been taking the responsibilities of Youth and Sports, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has now given responsibilities of Industry and Commerce Dept. However, the Minister said he has no idea about the Dept and also does not know what happened in this Dept in last 3.5 years.

Manoj Kanti Deb said that he has no idea about the ‘Industry and Commerce’ department but he will go through it, study and then will work after acquiring ideas about the department.

Beside this he said as the Food and Civil Supplies Dept Minister that the Dept had taken the decision to open 406 new ration shops but recently the state govt has changed the decision and asked the Ration shops should be given to the women and disabled people as an initiative to strengthening women empowerment.
