AGARTALA, August 23 (TIWN): Forest officials and workers of Teliamura Range of the Forest Department recovered illegal wooden logs worth more than three lakhs.
Based on a secret information that illegal timber logs were being loaded in the deep forest of Maharanipur area in TRO6B 1529 auto van at night, Forest Department officials and staff were ambushed at Daochhara rubber garden area at around 5 am on Monday.
Then the Forest Department officials noticed an auto van registered Number- TR06B1529 loaded with timber was on their way. Immediately the officials chased the vehicle loaded with logs but the vehicle driver and his companion escaped leaving the vehicle on spot.
Later the seized timber logs worth Rs 3 lakh were brought to Teliamura Forest Department.
