AGARTALA, Aug 18 (TIWN): Traditional "Jhulan Festival'' has been started in Tripura which is an age-old festival of the Hindus.
In Agartala Jagannath Bari temple preparations for the Jhulan Jatra festival were seen on peak.
Talking to the priest on duty there, he said, "Today is Ekadashi and this festival is celebrated from Ekadashi to Purnima for 6 days. At least from Dapat Yug this Jhulan Utsav is being celebrated among Hindus. In Vrindavan, the Jhulan festival started first. However, we observed the festival as per Vaidik rule. This year due to Covid we can't celebrate these days but the days were not like today previously. Before Covid there were so many functions, crowds and celebrations".
In Sri Krishna Temple in Agartala and in temples throughout Agartala this festival is being celebrated.
