KAILASHAHAR, Aug 16 (TIWN): Farmers staged a protest in Kailashahar Jubarajnagar. During the protest, farmers blocked road, burnt tires.
The farmers demanded a water drainage system in their locality so that the water logging does not happen in their croplands. The agitating farmer alleged that even after many requests the local authority did not take any initiative.
"Before the poll, the local MLA gave various promises but instead of better days, basic facilities we are not getting under the BJP Govt. We are repenting after voting them", said an agitator.
During the protest huge numbers of police were deployed on the spot, but the farmers said until the authority assures the farmers about fulfilling their demands, the protest will not stop.
Due to water logging, the farmers are facing crop failures in each monsoon and the Govt does not pay any compensation for the losses.
