AGARTALA, Aug 13 (TIWN): 152 police officers of the country were selected to be given the Union Home Minister Medal by the Central Home Department on yesterday. Among 152 police officers, Rita Debnath, an SI of Dharmanagar Women PS has also won the Union Home Minister Medal. It is learned that she has been honoured as the best investigating officer in the state.

In an interview with reporters on Friday, she said she had received co-operation from her senior officers in getting the honour.

She thanked the District Police superintendent, Sub-Divisional Police Officer and the OC of the concerned Police Station. She said that she is very happy and overwhelmed to receive this award. The official also said she will try to do better in the coming days to keep this reputation intact.
