AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): Slamming Biplab Deb over arrests of Trinamool activists, keeping them without treatment since they were attacked by BJP hooligans in Ambassa, Abhishek Banerjee said, "Biplab Deb thinks, people need VISA from him to come to Tripura".
The statement came after Biplab Deb's Police had arrested I-PAC team members last week in Agartala and now inhumanly police kept TMC members in lockup since yesterday without any medical treatment provided to them after they were injured in stone pelting by BJP.
"Tripura CM Biplab Deb is thinking that people have to take VISA to enter Tripura. The people who talk tall about democracy and allege Bengal has no democracy, they can't see Tripura ! Today in Tripura, oppositions have lost right to protest, oppositions are attacked, beaten up but the police instead of arresting the attackers, they have arrested the victims. Anyone entering Tripura, they are being arrested. On Day-1 when I came Tripura, I challenged that whatever BJP does we will restore democracy in Tripura. Before 7 day's completion since my first visit (on 2nd August) I have to arrive here again but now it's a challenge to end the autocracy in Tripura and to restore the Democracy", he said.
