AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): BJP youth activists have attacked CPI-M leader Ranjit Ghosh at Kamalpur yesterday. The CPI-M leader was referred to TMC Hospital, Hapania. Ex-CM Manik Sarkar has met the injured CPI-M leader at that hospital.
While talking to the media, Manik Sarkar said, "The young BJP workers who had beaten him up are very young to him. Ranjit Ghosh is from their grandfather's home. The youth BJP workers had attacked him asking not to join any political party programme. Where is the state going ?? Is it BJP's right to dictate who will be in which party ?"
"The programme of CPI-M youth wings led by DYFI, TYF was going on across the state. In Kamalpur also, the same protest programme was held with the slogan of "Where is My Job"? Ranjit Ghosh did not attend the protest. He just went as a guardian of the youth activists. He was in auto when the BJP members held an attack on him".
Manik Sarkar alleged that Ranjit Ghosh was attempted to be murdered because recently he was again brutally attacked which was more violent. This time he got fractures in various parts of his body. CT scan was done and lots of treatment is needed.
Sarkar further said that such attacks are a revelation of BJP's weakness and fear.
