AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): CPIM organised protest rally over increasing necessary commodities at Khowai and demanded punishment against the perpetrators who brutally held attack on MLA, Sudhan Das.
Mass protests continue across the state demanding public life disrupted in this COVID pandemic. CPIM workers organised a rally in Khowai on Monday, carrying placards and party flags on their hands, demanding control the skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel products and daily commodities. Besides these left organisations demanded immediate exemplary punishment against the perpetrators of the barbaric attack on leaders and activists including MLA Sudhan Das in Belonia Rajnagar area on 27 June. At the call of five leftist organizations on four-point demand, the massive protest rally was started from CPIM Khowai district office premises on the initiative of the CPIM Khowai subdivision committee. The huge procession went around Khowai Hospital Chowmuhani, Nripen Chakraborty Avenue, Subhash Park, Lalchhara etc. Areas and returned back to the district office.
Along with the CPIM district committee's secretary members MLA Nirmal Biswas, DYFI state committee president Palash Bhowmik, CPIM state committee member Sukhendu Bikash Dey and other leaders joined the rally.
