Agartala, Dec 16 (TIWN): 12-day long Agartala Book Fair- 2014 is scheduled to be started at Umakanta Academy ground on February 13 and it will be continued till February 24. During the book fair, different seminars, poet-summits and new book release ceremony will be held in every evening to draw massive crowd. Altogether 125 stalls will be opened in the fair.
Besides Tripura publishers, different publishers of Bangladesh, Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati will be invited to attend the Agartala Book fair. Every day, the book fair would be started from 2 pm and would be continued till 8 pm except holidays. On the holidays, it would be continued till 9 pm.
To mark the book fair grand success, a meeting of managing committee was conducted at the Birchandra State Central Library on Monday. It was decided in the meeting; this year the book fair will be organized as plastic-free fair. The meeting was presided over by the Minister of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department- Bhanulal Saha.
Besides, Mayor of AMC- Dr. Prafullajit Sinha, Councilor Fulan Bhattacharjee, Secretary and Director of ICA Department- Santanu Das and Santanu Debbarma, President of TBSE- Mihir Deb and representatives of other departments attended the meeting. On the closing ceremony of book fair, many artists, litterateurs and others will be awarded.
