AGARTALA, June 06 (TIWN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who succumb to COVID 19, and accordingly, our Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb, assured the state through the media to pay them that particular amount. But sadly, just like his other promises Deb failed to fulfill that and the families of the deceased patients received not a single penny from the Govt. till today.
Alok Debnath, a resident of the East Lakshibil Shivtila area, in Bishalgarh, died of a corona infection. Alok was the only source of income in his family. His two sons, ages below 10 years are unable to perform the last rights of their father due to poor financial condition. Facing extreme poverty, Alok’s brother took on the camera to express their crisis. He urged the Govt. to help them to overcome this tough time and also requested that particular amount which the chief minister announced to pay multiple times to ensure a better future for Alok’s sons.
