AGARTALA, June 5(TIWN): Additional SP Yangeshwar Reddy organized a press conference at Agartala West PS on the issue of illegally stocked drugs and cash recovery from the shop and house of Battala Bazar trader named Sameer Banik.

The police led by 2 teams and raided at Battala Bazar traderSamir Banik’s house at AD Nagar and at his shop at Battala Bazar and recovered huge amounts of illegally stored tablets.

The house was raided by AD Nagar PS Police and his shop at Battala bazar was raided by West PS, Police and contraband items like 13 gms Brown sugar, 150 Yaba tablets and 572.9 gms Gold ornaments were seized from his house. 

Also Indian Currency Rs 75, 87,260 lakhs and Bangladeshi currency RS 44, 808 were found from the trader Samir Banik’s house and shop.

However, the police handed over the Bangladeshi currency to the customs. 

Police registered a case NO- 22B,25, 29 under NDPS Act against the trader for running his drug empire.
