AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): Engineer Krishna Kumar Das of Bagafa Block threatened journalists after the news of corruption in his MNREGA work was published on Wednesday. Based on details, 1 lakh 21 thousand 30 rupees were allocated for the construction of drains from the land of Birendra Riang to the land of Ruhidas Riang under the East Bagafa Panchayat. But Hemendra Riang, the owner of the land, complained that the work was not done properly. The landowner lodged a written complaint to the block officer and the district magistrate. But after the news was published, Krishna Kumar Das became furious and threatened the journalist.

However, in the last few years, there were various allegations against the engineer. The people in the area ones surrounded the block on the charge of embezzling money from others’ accounts. Krishna Kumar Das himself wanted to resign from his job in the past due to corruption.

Meanwhile, at present, after joining the ruling party, Krishna Kumar Das has started looting the money of the block again and despite several allegations against the engineer, the administration is playing the role of a silent spectator.
