AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): After the NCC police arrested 7 youths yesterday in a drive led my SDPO Priya Madhabi Majumder at Nandan Nagar’s Sen para area alleging the 7 for being indulged in drug smuggling, the police were obstructed today by several BJP leaders of the constituency while sending them to the court from the New Capital Complex police station premises on Friday.

The Mandal leaders and the family members of the accused claimed that the 7 people were just sitting and having a casual chat when the police arrested them allegedly and after taking them to the PS, the police put those contraband items before them and took the picture to gain popularity.

However, a case was filed against them under the NDPS Act.

Yesterday SDPO Piya Madhuri said that these 7 persons are dangerous level's drug mafia.
