AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN): Curfew is maintained more tightly with increasing numbers of COVID19 cases in State. Right now, Tripura’s COVID19 positivity rate is 6.97. Strict action has been taken against the people who are not wearing masks in Tripura. Police and Administration are jointly working to ensure COVID19 related laws’ proper implementation. Unnecessary goers were also restricted and physical distances are mandatory. Also anyone not wearing helmet was fined. This is being made compulsory in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19. Strict actions will be taken if laws are violated. Corona Curfew has fallen on Day 13 in Agartala and parallelly it's going on throughout the state. The Curfew which was imposed to curb the Covid cases in state yet to show its effect as positivity rate is still running high. Talking to media East Agartala PS OC-Saroj Bhattacharjee said, "We are taking action against the violators.Fines are being imposed on rule breakers. Vehicles are under constant checking to detect the unnecessary goers. Our message to the public is only that they should not go out unnecessarily".
Like Agartala Municipal Corporation areas, in whole Tripura also after 12 noon, all essential commodities shops have put under orders to be shutdown and other businesses remain totally off. The Cabinet on May 25 has decided to extend Covid Curfew up to 5th June in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas and urban areas and to start Corona Curfew in whole Tripura from 27th May.
