AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN): The locals claimed that despite conveying the issue to the zonal office several times, the Assistant Commissioner of AMC citing in the zonal office is playing a dumb role. A few days back, when the locals went to him to complain regarding the acute water crisis, the Assistant commissioner told them that it is not his duty to look for that and asked them to visit the AMC head office.

Today while the 204 families of Vivekananda Awasan gheraoed AMC Zonal office, he fled away from the spot. 

The locals, however, said that there are more complaints regarding various issues occurring in the area but right now they demanded the water crisis issue be solved soon.

Meanwhile, the pump man claimed that the supply of water in that area is adequate but sufficient water cannot reach the public as there is some fault in the pipelines.
