AGARTALA, May 26 (TIWN): In East Aralia, a housewife got severely beaten by her father-in-law and brother-in-law after she resisted while her father-in-law tried to molest her.

According to the victim, 4-months back, she got married. Within three months of their marriage, after she conceived, her father-in-law tried to molest her allegedly and threatened her not to open her mouth before anyone.

Her father in law also said that if the wife says anything about his ugly nature to her uncle, with whom she used to stay before her marriage, he would kill her uncle too. 

On Friday night, when the victim was washing utensils after having dinner, her father in law touched her again. When she resisted, crossing all limits he and his son sprayed some chemicals on her face sp that she turns senseless, assaulted her, tied her hands, and legs and threw her in her uncle’s house. 

The next day when the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment her father in law'’s son-in-law went there and threatened her that if she tries to put any case against the accused, he would kill her and her uncle and as he has got a good connection with the local leaders, the police won’t catch them.

Upon hearing the news, the chairperson of the women's commission, Barnali Goswami rushed to the spot and requested the administration to launch a proper investigation and punish the culprit. She also asserted that despite lodging a complaint, the police have not yet arrested the accused.

Local club members and the people residing near the victim’s house also asked the administration to take strong action against the culprits.
