AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): A housewife has been beaten up by her in-law's family members and has been mentally tortured for 8 months. 

The victim housewife Smita Acharjee was married to Chiranjit Acharjee before 8 months at Gangail road, Ranjit Nagar.

But soon she found that her husband Chiranjit Acharjee is a regular drunker and every night he tortures her after getting drunk. Gradually her in-laws started torturing her seeking dowry from her parents.

Yesterday her father in law Parimal Acharjee beat her up severely and tore her dress. The victim has filed a case in West Agartala Police station.
