AGARTALA, May 21 (TIWN): A 19-year old girl, a paramedical student studying in the second year was going to her friend’s house in Madhupur area on Tuesday afternoon when a group of boys came before her, covered her face with a piece of cloth and took her in a car forcefully. The people in that area came forward and shouted to save the girl but the car left the spot hurriedly.

The eye-witnesses alleged that Rajat Shil S/O Tapas Shil residing in Madhupur and his friends abducted the girl. Rajat is involved in the flower business in Madhupur market, such has been alleged by her family members.

 The victim’s parents fell sick after hearing the incident and are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. 

 Meanwhile, acting under the pressure of the locals and the family members, the Madhupur police arrested the parents of the accused.

However, it was claimed on the other side that the girl went at her own will, not by force but her parents asked Police to bring her daughter as it may be a conspiracy. 

The girl’s family is however yet keeping hope on the police administration and urged them to catch the culprit soon.
