AGARTALA, May 21 (TIWN): On the 31st death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Tripura Pradesh Congress distributed masks and sanitizers to the people in front of the IGM Hospital today.
Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi, the 6th Prime Minister of our country, at 40, was the youngest prime minister of India. In his five years of rule from 1984 to 1989, the young leader made sincere efforts to take the country to the 21st century. He laid the foundation of a modern India leaving an imprint of modernity.
Rajiv Gandhi died on May 21, 1991, at the young age of 46 years. However, in a short span of life, he left an indelible mark on Indian society and politics.
His party stands for diversity, democracy, secularism, inclusion, and decentralization. Observing that Rajiv Gandhi made significant contributions to telecom, software, vaccine production. Besides Panchayat Raj and others, the right seeds planted by the former Prime Minister have given fruit now. Rajiv Gandhi is hailed as the 'Father of Information Technology and Telecom Revolution of India'. He is rightfully known as the architect of digital India.
