AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): Locals caught a young man red-handed with brown sugar in the Lake Chowmuhani market area. Police rushed to the spot hearing the incident and arrested the youth.

However, the locals of that area along with Ward no. 19 president, Nanda Lal Banik claimed that after the accused was caught in the market, the young man told them from whom he bought the drugs but the police did not go to their house despite the locals asked the police to go and check their house. 

Nanda Lal Banik also said that the drug peddlers get bail easily in our state and this is why their illicit business is running smoothly within the state and no serious actions are taken against them.  

Earlier yesterday, three drug peddlers were caught with brown sugar inside IGM hospital premises by the security guards and TSR Jawana and handed over to the West PS.
