AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN): Bhati Abhaynagar Tripura e-rickshaw association organized a press conference today.
The main reason for this press conference is that in 2020, the state government announced that e-rickshaw workers will be paid Rs.1000 to cope up with the pandemic situation but in reality, the promise was not fulfilled.
Appealing to the state government to fulfill its promise the association also demanded to organize a COVID-19 vaccination camp at their office to provide vaccine to the e-rickshaw workers as they are more vulnerable to catch the virus and also asked the Government to provide basic food items to the E-rickshaw drivers to help them from starving as they are running under huge loss due to the pandemic.
The association also submitted their demand to Sadar DM, SDM, and Deputy Commissioner.
