AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): Locals residing near Bordowali Choudhury Mill lodged a deputation at Arudhuti Nagar police station against 2 families for carrying out illicit drug trade openly in the area.

They claimed that for the last 5 years Nilima Paul w/o Satyajit Paul, her son Shirsendu Paul and their neighbors Surjya Kr. Sen along with his two siblings, Rajib Sen and Sanjib Sen are not just consuming drugs but also carrying out the drug trade desperately in the area. The people residing there tried to stop them several times. Earlier they also called the Amtali police to get the peddlers caught but whenever the police arrive the peddlers manage to escape.

After trying to stop them multiple times, the area people along with the Booth committee president and the general secretary of the local club Narayan Debnath lodged a deputation at the PS demanding the police administration to take appropriate action against those families in accordance with the law.
