AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): A corona-positive patient named Salem Mia escaped from Udaipur’s Chandrapur Covid Care Center. The accused is a resident of the Kupilong area under Udaipur Killa police station.
The sub-divisional police officer with an additional police superintendent is searching for the patient. It is learned that the patient escaped from the roof balcony of Chandrapur Covid Care Center at 9.30 am on Sunday. Salem is also known to be the accused in a theft case.
However, this is not something new happening in our state. Earlier on April 22, 31 COVID positive patients escaped from Arundhuti Nagar Covid Care Centre after which the police have launched a massive search to trace the patients, belonging to three states, UP, Haryana and Rajasthan. Those 31 patients had come to Tripura to attend the interview for the recruitment as a rifleman in the Tripura State Rifles (TSR).
