Agartala, December 13 (TIWN): 33rd State Conference of Tripura PWD, Irrigation and Technical workers Union was held today at Town Hall on Saturday. The conference will continue up to December 14. Minister of Drinking Water and PWD Ratan Bhowmik inaugurated the conference. PWD minister Badal Choudhury delivered speech in the seminar as chief guest. General Secretary of Tripura Employees Coordination Committee (H.B.Road) Asim Paul attended the programme as main speaker.
While delivering the speech, Minister of Drinking water, Ratan Bhowmik told that, Central Government are showing step motherly attitude towards the State Government Employees. Contractions of workers are still continuing. And those who are responsible for the economic crisis are implementing various packages, inspite of being solving the problem. Minister further added that this situation gradually emerges disastrous conditions for the State. Taking example of China, Mr. Bhowmik mentioned that though there are financial problems, but they had also to sort out various alternative methods for this.
On the other hand a seven member delegation of the organization submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer. The demands included promotion, new appointment, to fill up vacant posts, rectification in recruitment rule. The Chief Engineer agreed with reasonability of the demands.
On the occasion a rally of union members paraded the streets of Agartala with flags and festoons. During speech after the rally employee leader Nandan Kumar Dey stressed on role employees in maintaining secularism.
PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury and other speakers as usual blasted central govt for all their miseries.However very few State Govt employees now believe them.
