AGARTALA, May 14(TIWN): The natural habitations for elephants have been severely affected due to rampant tree feeling in Reserved Forest (RF) areas, which prompted wild animals to come into the usual habitations in search of food and shelter. While the wild Elephants moved to populated areas in search of food and shelter, most of the time various mishaps occurred. Such a wild Elephant attack incident took place in Bagber area of 28 Kalyanpur, Promodnagar constituency under Teliamura Subdivision.
One person was killed and another was injured after an attack by wild elephants in Bagber area of 28 Kalyanpur under Teliamura Subdivision. The injured man was taken to Kalyanpur Hospital and the man is undergoing treatment. However, Wild animal, elephant’s attacks on humans are nothing new, earlier many people died and were injured in Elephant attacks. Meanwhile, centering the death panic has generated in the entere Teliamura subdivision. A number of people have been killed, injured and several houses, crops were damaged by rogue elephants in village areas of Teliamura in the last few years. Human-elephant conflict under Teliamura subdivision is nothing new, several times it was reported but no strong action was taken by the Forest Department in this regard.
