CHURAIBARI, May 8 (TIWN): olice seized a huge amount of Phensedyl from Churaibari area when the truck was on the way to Tripura. Police seized 14,000 cough syrup bottles whose market price was estimated around Rs 72 lakhs.

The vehicle’s driver Shafiqul Islam and assistant-driver Momin Ali both were detained along with the vehicle’s registered No.- AS01KC6150.

It is known that both the drivers are residents of Kamrup district in Assam.  The police said that the huge quantity of Phensedyl was being transported from Assam to Agartala. 

The arrested persons will will be produced before the court.
