AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): Bangladesh Army detained a young man, citizen of Arunachal Pradesh and he was jailed for 3 years for entering Bangladesh without Passport on May 6, 2018.
On Wednesday Bangladesh Army released the man and handed him over to his family through Belonia Border.

The young man's named, Bharat Lama, 23 years old, resident of Pulang area under Khunsa PS Tirsha district of Arunachal Pradesh. Reportedly, Bharat was in Bangladesh’s custody for one year for entering Bangladesh without passport as he could not show his passport when he was caught. It is known that after spending one year in Rangamati(Bangladesh) Prison, he was again imprisoned in Feni (Bangladesh) Jail for two years.
Finally, after his release from prison, the Bangladesh Army handed over the man, Bharat Lama to Indian Border Security Personnel through the Belonia Indo-Bangla International Customs on Wednesday.
After hearing the release news of Bharat Lama, his elder brother, Raju Lama rushed to Belonia from Arunachal Pradesh to take him and they both left Belonia on Wednesday to return home, Arunachal.
