AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): Many years back, in the interest of security in the Kanchanmala area, a temporary camp of TSR jawans was set up in Lakshmichhara Ramakrishna HS School near Kanchanmala Bazaar. Later on, the TSR camp was lifted from there and DAR was set up permanently.

The camp currently consists of a few police and a few home guard personnel. At present, the camp is running through an acute shortage of drinking water. The water that comes through the supply is unfit for drinking. There is a tube well next to the camp but for some reason, water does not come out through this.

Despite complaining to their authorities, no solution was made. The police staying in the camp have to buy drums of mineral water from the market paying extra money from their pockets.

To overcome the crisis, they requested the government and the concerned department once again to provide permanent drinking water to the camp.
