AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): After a long two months, in another landmark decision, Tripura High Court conceded bail to Congress Minority Chairman Jaidul Hossain today. A section of Congress leaders, including former provincial Congress president Birjit Sinha, were present before Central Jail to welcome him.

Jaidul who was allegedly arrested by the Bishalgarh police on charges of assault surrounding BJP’s brutal attack on Tripura Pradesh Congress President, Piyush Kanti Biswas on Jan 17 alleged Biplab Deb’s barbaric government for accusing him falsely to undermine the ruling party’s fault.

Addressing media, Jaidul said. “I thank senior advocate Purushottam Roy Barman, Adv Prasanta Sen Choudhury, Partha Sarkar, Bapi Kar, and other lawyers for supporting me constantly while I was in jail. Their time-to-time interview gave me mental support. I also condemn the conspiracy done by the ruling party and its allies to imprison me without any guilt”.
