AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): Chandan Biswas of Amarpur Netaji Colony was caught by crowd today for stealing bicycle from Amarpur Dalak Bazar.

Based on details, Chandan was involved in theft and looting in the area for a long time. Later, the Birganj police went to the spot, rescued the Chandan from public, and brought him to the sub-divisional hospital.

Witnesses said burglary cases are ascending on the top in the area in recent months.

It is known, the youth, Chandan Sarkar residence of Amarpur Netaji Colony is involved in various theft cases for a long time. Several days ago the young man, Chandan Sarkar stole a bicycle from the market and fled away. Noticing him the angry mob surrounded him at Weekly Bazar on Saturday and beaten him. After informing the Birganj police, the police went to the spot and rescued the injured youth and brought him to the sub-divisional hospital.  Locals also said if the police patrols properly the number of theft incidents will reduce.
