AGARTALA, March 9 (TIWN): From IT building to various Health Centres building inauguration, it has become a diplomatic policy of Biplab Deb Govt to slam the previous Govt in each inauguration of Previous Govt's project works. Same is about National Highways, India-Bangladesh Railway, Feni River's Maitri Bridge Bridge, Under-Construction Agartala MBB International Airport etc. But today, in the inauguration programme of Matri Bridge by PM Modi virtually from Delhi and Bangladesh PM Shiekh Hasina from Bangladesh (virtually), though Biplab Deb blamed the previous Govt accusing it was anti-development, but Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who was not present virtually but delivered her speech in a recorded video has fully credited former Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar behind the project.
Addressing the occasion, Sheikh Hasina said, "I am happy that the bridge is being inaugurated at such a time when Bangladesh is celebrating its golden jubilee of its independence".
"The opening of Feni Bridge is a testimony of the Bangladesh Govt's continuous commitment to support our neighbour India in strengthening connectivity of the region particularly the Northeast of India. In 2010, the then Chief Minister of Tripura placed a proposal before me to build a bridge over the river Feni. He pointed out that the bridge is very important to the business community India's Northeast zone using the Chattagram Sea port. Since then, the Govt of Bangladesh has extended all necessary support for the construction of the bridge, 10 years later, this bridge is a reality", said the Bangladesh PM.
