AGARTALA, March 9 (TIWN): Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has credited former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for the Feni river's Maitri Bridge which has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi today.

"We are thankful that after 10 years of joint works, this project is going to be inaugurated. Its proposal was given to me by the then Chief Minister of Tripura (Manik Sarkar) and from that time, we are working with India jointly in this project", Sheikh said.

She also wished good luck to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb and thanked Tripura for sheltering suffered people of Bangladesh in 1971.
