AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb while addressing in a programme sparked controversy by taking controversial figure Savarkar's name and claimed that the opposition CPI-M will worship Savarkar soon. Not only this, Biplab Deb has compared Savarkar with Vivekanada and Mahatma Gandhi.

In Indian history, Savarkar is however infamous for surrendering before the British and seeking "mercy" from the then British Govt to get freedom from the jail and the letter his legal mercy-begging is recorded in history. 

Biplab Deb also claimed, Communists started worshipping Mahatma Gandhi and Vivekanada after getting motivated from BJP. However, Biplab Deb was muted over Independent India's first terrorist Nathuram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi and his own party's MP supported Terrorist Godse openly.
