AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): BJP's Minority Morcha leader, Haj Committee Chairman Jasim Uddin was attacked by one Taher Mia yesterday night at his home in Ramnagar.

Taher Mia is a local of the BJP leader's area who is employed in Agartala Municipal Corporation's lower division on a contract basis. Jasim Uddin has expressed surprise over this incident.

He raised the question, "If this is the level of attack on the ruling party members, what will happen to the common men ? I demand proper action on it. I will file an FIR on this incident". 

Jasim Uddin was entering his home when Taher Mia held this attack. The attack was allegedly "physical" with "verbal abuses". 

He further said, "I suspect there are some intrigues behind such an incident, because the man who has attacked me was never my enemy. He is indeed a normal, gentleman and not connected with any sort of politics. Why has he done this, I have no idea........"
