AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Addressing a workshop of photo-journalists at Agartala Press Club, Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman, who is also a Royal family member pulled the forgotten history of Tripura in photography where Late King Bir Chandra Manikya had contributions and brought camera to Tripura when nation had got two cameras - one for Hyderabad Zameendar Deendayal and another for Tripura King Bir Chandra Manikya.
"Tripura King Bir Chandra Manikya had been the pioneer of Photography in India in that sense. King's friend Samarendra Chandra Debbarma's painting still exists in British Museum named "The Portrait of the Tribal Girl", said Jishnu Debbarman.
He further mentioned that the mediums of photography has tremendously changed with the time and now it's all in digital forms and new upgrades are changing the mediums further.
