Agartala, Dec 6 (TIWN): Like other states, National Lok Adalat is going on in all courts across the state since morning. A total of 68 benches of Lok Adalats have been constituted across the state to conduct the National Lok Adalat. Out of them, 51 courts have been formed in Magistrate’s level while 17 courts have been constituted in the Executive Magistrate’s level.
Altogether 28,702 cases including matrimonial disputes, compoundable criminal cases and revenue cases have been identified for settlement in those lok adalats in the state. The National Lok Adalat has been inaugurated from the Supreme Court at 9.30 am, this morning.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sadar- Manik Lal Das over telephone said to TIWN, “Altogether 208 revenue cases have been taken up for settlement in four courts organized by Tripura State Legal Services Authority while 2 more courts are disposing in total 63 cases including Public Demand Recovery (PDR) cases, maintenance cases, certificate related cases, U/S Cr. PC 138/144 cases at SDM office premises.”
Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), a National Lok Adalat is being conducted across the country at all levels right from Supreme Court to the local Courts. Different types of cases that are presently pending in the Courts at various levels have been taken up for disposal at the National Lok Adalats today.
Of the total, some civil cases including rent, bank recovery, debt recovery tribunal cases, revenue cases, MNREGA, electricity and water bills (excluding theft cases), cases relating to Sates Tax, Income Tax, service matters relating to pay and allowances and retrial benefits, Forest Act cases, Criminal Appeals, Civil appeals, MACT Appeals before the High Court and Pre-litigation matters have also been identified for disposal.
