Agartala, Dec 5 (TIWN): In an anti-ganja drive jointly conducted by the Sadar sub-divisional administration, staffs of Excise department and Srinagar police station, a vibrant ganja plantation consisting 8 plots on 5 acre lands worth Rs. 72.90 lakh was destroyed at West Jarulbachai ADC village under Dukli RD Block, here today.
The raid was headed by the SDM Sadar- Manik Lal Das. Besides, Assistant Excise Commissioner- Keshab Sinha and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Srinagar police station- Dipal Rudra Pal also took part in the raid operation. During the raid, altogether 2916 ganja plants were destroyed by the joint team, said Das here, this evening.
Acting on tip-off, the joint team carried out the raid at West Jarulbachai ADC village in between 12 pm to 4 pm today. During the raid, the joint team has discovered and destroyed the massive cannabis plantation at the interior place West Jarulbachai ADC village under Dukli RD Block. No arrest was made in this connection so far, said Das.
