AGARTALA / BELONIA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Acting on a tip-off, police, BSF, and TSR forces launched a joint operation at Maluwar Tila and Satmara in Bhabanipur in the Rajnagar block of Belonia.

The operation was led by Rajnagar PR Bari Sub-Inspector, OC Anjan Chakma, and Assistant Commandant of Rangamura BOP's 130th Battalion Pushppender Singh in the two areas of Bhabanipur.

The cannabis orchards of six plots were destroyed by burning.  Nearly 12,000 cannabis plants were reportedly destroyed in the operation.   

At the end of the operation, Rajnagar PR house OC Anjan Chakma said the operation was carried out based on secret information. He assured that they will carry out such operation in coming days as well.
