AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): Yadav Majumdar Sarni Lane in Chowrangi Para is now enlisted in Ward 46 of Agartala Municipal Corporation. 14/15 families reside in the pond-side area. When this area was under panchayat, one-third of the work was done but today it has become a death trap.

During the Left Front government, Rajya Sabha MP Jharna Das Vaidya sanctioned Rs. 8 lakh for repairing the road and the locals then requested her to rename this road as ‘Yadav Majumdar Sarni Lane’.

 After Left Front’s defeat in 2020 assembly election, Biplab’s government took the work of this road to the other side. Before the Badharghat assembly by-election, MLA Mimi

Majumder came to the constituency as a BJP candidate and said that if she wins the election, her first task would be to repair this road.

 But now when the locals went to her regarding this issue, she didn’t bother allegedly forgetting her pre-poll promise.
